I need to make a change

After all my excitement to get on the scale, I am bummed out.  I haven't lost any weight.  Tom lost 4.  I think that is incredible. We go grocery shopping tomorrow, so my diet will change.
Now I need to not be discouraged and give up.  I'm going to keep on trying.  I have to get healthy.

So far, so good.

Tomorrow will be our first official weigh-in.  I think Tom has lost more weight than I have.  This is starting our second week.  Our diet hasn't changed, only because we've had no money for groceries.  We've been eating what Tom's mom gave us.  Water consumption has been the biggest change for me.  I've been drinking more than a fish!  Tom's blood sugars have been really good lately.
Our exercise has consisted of walking for 30 minutes every day.  We also skip the elevators and take the stairs instead.
Today I was watching a program called "You on a Diet" on Discovery Health.  Dr. Oz and the other guy preach about the waistline. Apparently, women should have a 32 inch waistline and men should have a 35 inch waistline.  I'm not sure that ever person could be lumped into that category, since I'm on the petite end of the spectrum, mine should probably be smaller.  I'll go ahead and try to whittle the waistline anyway.
I'm looking forward to getting on the scale tomorrow.  That sounds so strange.  Open-mouthed

Good luck everyone.  I hope you're all doing great!

Biggest Loser Couples Million Pound Match-Up

Newlyweds

Tom, Silver Spring, MD    Weight Loss Goal – 100 pounds

Patricia, Silver Spring MD    Weight Loss Goal – 35 pounds

Combined weight loss goal of 135 pounds

Tom and I are embarking again to get fit this year.  The “Biggest Loser Couples Million Pound Match-Up” seems to be a great motivation for us.  We love watching the Biggest Loser and find it very inspirational.

We just celebrated our two year anniversary last week.  When I was single, I always told myself that I wouldn’t be one of those women who get fat after they get married.  Well I was certainly wrong about that.  My eating habits and patterns have changed drastically.  In the past I was conscientious of the food I put in my body.  But now, to save a buck, eating the pre-packaged crap that my husband has been eating is more economical and convenient for our lifestyle.  In June of 2006, I had gotten up to 170 pounds.  I worked out very hard at the gym without changing my eating habits much. The only thing that was different was that we didn’t eat out as much.  I was able to lose 35 pounds, but the weight wouldn’t come off after that.

We would like to have a baby this year, and I need to lose weight to be healthy enough to carry a child.  Tom has Type 2 diabetes and he needs to lose weight so he can live longer.  Besides taking insulin, he has to take medication for high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

Tom and I do go for walks, but haven’t been disciplined enough to do it every day.  So, we intend to crack the whip and change our exercise and our eating. I love vegetables, but Tom could do without them.  But I’d like to completely change how we eat.

Winning a personal trainer for a year, would completely change our lives.  Tom and I are dedicated to our health and our future.  That is why we deserve to win.
